What Do I Do With Today

I turned it into yesterday

What Do I Do With Today?

I turned to yesterday,

then it was gone.

Just shadows and silence,

no way back,

no answers left in the dust.

I turned to tomorrow,

it was too far away to see.

A blur on the edge of my hope,

just out of reach,

just out of time.

So all I have is today.

This single breath,

this single step.

What do I do with that?

Do I speak,

or stay quiet?

Do I move,

or wait?

Today feels heavy

but it’s mine.

Maybe I just hold it

like something fragile.

Maybe I just breathe

and try again.

Maybe I plant one small thought

in the soil of now,

and trust it might grow.

what do I do when it grows?

That is a question for Tomorrow.
