What brighter friend could I ask for?

The golden lady.

By Jordan ZunigaPublished 4 years ago 1 min read

It was in the first day of July at the clock stroke of noon,

The towers resounded at midday at what was coming soon,

As if love had surely come and would neither stop, nor cease to relent,

The sound around the townsfolk as such time had been well spent,

I trailed about the market, wondering of whats in store,

The heart desired something, the spirit yearned for something more,

Sunlight reached its peak as summer heat would surely sink,

The pressure sooner building, as if it was on the brink!

There, she trailed around the flora, the daisies brighter and chipper,

Her hair so bright and golden, hazel eyes with depth more mysterious then the big dipper,

A smile, a flash, a glimmer, my heart would then delight,

A gem so radiant and stunning, with beauty of illuminated light!

I walked closer to her area as she curiously took a glance,

Such moments should not be squandered, there may not be another chance,

My heart would beat would thunder, despite a demeanor smooth and calm,

My soul inspired to sing the sweetest, heartfelt, psalm.

"Hi, it's a pleasure to meet you!" My heart would surely bend,

That golden lady among the daisies,

The one I wanted to call, friend...
