When Did We Become Invisible?

They came for another,

ambush of a masked cult.

Taking a father, a brother,

legal or not, whoever doesn't fit

their inhumane ideal.

They came for another,

these wannabe soldiers,

hell bent on destroying lives.

Their own souls evaporated

beyond recognition.

This time they took

the objectors because

land of the free must be

only one voice.

They came for another,

screams of a child,

who cried for her mother.

She no longer belongs.

They came for another,

then another,

and another

as we watched,

complicit in silence,

our country disappeared.

So very sad 😢 I work at a multicultural school. I’m worried what will happen. Way to bring this to light.

It's insane what's going on. This doesn't feel like the America I want to believe in.

  • Just saw a news clip concerning ICE going after youth in NYC who are natural born citizens of this country. Their coach intervened preventing them from interviewing/questioning the kids but the damage has been done, fear invoked. Only one of twenty-five kids returned to practice the day of the interview.

this is very powerful, Cindy. I can't believe the news I'm watching every day. There's another protest on July 18, seems this is the only thing we can do now to stop the madness.

an eloquent, heartwrenching piece that rightly pulls no punches highlighting and protesting the horror! well done, Cindy!

  • I am in tears. I am so sad about what’s going on. Many people are being deported to violent countries like El Salvador or places in Africa where they are brutalized. They are not even simply sending them back to their homes. I am going to say it out loud - THE TRUMP ADMINISTRATION IS EVIL!
