There are only three types of things in this world: our own affairs, other people's affairs, and God's affairs. We can only control our own affairs; the affairs of others and of God are difficult to change.

Most of life's pain comes from failing to manage our own affairs while expecting to manage the affairs of others and God. We expect unconditional love from our parents, tenderness and consideration from our spouses, and good behavior and understanding from our children. Often, the greater our expectations, the greater our disappointment.

The more you force certain relationships, the more likely you are to be trapped by them. The more you try to change some people, the more likely you are to get the opposite effect. And the more effort you put into some connections, the more conflict you may encounter.

The best state of life is to do your best in your own affairs and let everything else go. There are always some things we cannot change, no matter how hard we try!

When encountering bad things, let them go! Simply do your due diligence, then do your best, and leave the rest to fate.

If you encounter someone who doesn't understand you, let it go! Don't argue, don't defend yourself; time will give you the answers.

If you encounter a negative environment, let it go! If you can fit in, do so; if you can't, leave. If this place doesn't want you, there will be others. Don't be too picky; it's better to let go than to suffer needlessly.

The so-called peaceful years don't mean they are truly free of disturbances, but rather a state of mind of letting things go and taking them lightly. Life always has regrets. Everything has cause and effect, and everything follows its own laws. Let things go, don't fight, don't worry, and handle your own affairs calmly and easily as time passes.

Since there is nowhere to escape, it's better to be joyful. Since there is no pure land, it's better to be at peace. Since it doesn't go as you wish, it's better to let go."

For the rest of your life, stop, forget, follow the wind, walk, observe, and be at ease.

Love the lesson behind this. It draws such a clear line between what we can and can’t change, and how easily we lose focus on the part that’s truly ours to alter. Three things in this world, yet only one we hold power over. Perfect. And inspired.
