i dreamt i was trying to sell the rain
not for profit not for gain
i was just doing it
right out in the open

i had shares in all the floods
and every village sweeping mud filled torrent
was carefully entered into the correct column
every last single drop accounted for

i traded in storms and tsunamis
and let them whip through your beach front dwellings
and as they fall prey to a sky of mad grey
another coastline is washed away

i tried to calm the sea
but She (the sea) wouldn't let it be
wave after wave of exasperating futility
and a non-negotiable service fee

i dreamt of a FREE summer shower
no deluge or torrent to be seen
i took my shoes off and walked on the lawn
and let the heavens drip from my brow

Fun, B! I thought this was gonna be one of your semi gross out pieces ! Hahah These lines were my favourite, “i tried to calm the sea but She (the sea) wouldn't let it be wave after wave of exasperating futility and a non-negotiable service fee”. 🙂 👏 🌧
so creative! that title draws you right in!
I love this! That first stanza was amazing and I loved how you opened the whole piece. You have such a cool writing style!
