Welcome
Ready to Play
Welcome spring,
I am giddy for the refresh.
Darkness is maddening but you keep me
from derangement.
We have weathered the winter,
per due course,
now is time for lighter vibrations;
buzzing starts and shedding old.
☀️
The charcoals and darks give way
to sunbeams and blue skies,
still too far to touch,
but I can see them.
☀️
Welcome rain,
trickling down nose, mouth, throat.
I am enthralled as you soak me,
light passing through to shine in full spectrum of color.
Dripping vim.
I indulge in the pleasure
of wet embrace.
☀️
Fingers slip, chasing drops across curves,
between grooves,
To catch and lick from tips.
☀️
Welcome sun,
how I blush at your touch, Sir.
Soft under-skin exposed finally,
stripped of layers once needed
to shield the harsh.
Bare and open to you,
warming me inside-out
and I can’t get enough.
☀️
Wildly, your shafts explode
through shadows
Calling me out to play.
☀️
Twirly giggles sift through leaves
with first light as you chase
and I tease in dance
of lust.
Motivation defeats fear.
I am not new, no,
but expertised and ravenous.
Zealous in the pursuit of you, Sir.
☀️
Huntress of light:
Creeping through shadows,
Shrieking extended-clawed attack,
pouncing at illuminated particles
I can see but harm nonetheless,
as I slice without reservation
to tumble in glee
always back to my feet.
☀️
Trickery you employ,
Hiding away each night,
But I am trickier still and I see your stay,
exposed by mirrored sky
(as the moon and I are friends),
and so I plot my next advances
whilst awaiting to play
and welcome you again.

"The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing."
A piece of paper taped to a wall of an elementary school said this, it really resonated with me.

Your descriptions were so vivid and evocative. Loved your poem!
Descriptively beautiful. I felt like I could feel the warmth, light and rain. Really lovely piece.
Evocative and bold. This reads like a love affair with light, movement, and renewal.
