Weightless

A reflection of struggling with food

By Cassie GPublished about a year ago 1 min read

Life is about balance

This question ails me

What bears weight?

I find myself shouldering the weight of the dinner I just ate

but more so

the weight of the guilt

I ate too much

the shower water

doesn't wash it away

my stomach balloons in protest

but it doesn't float away

something light in the morning

a walk and a coffee

nature, endorphins, one foot after the other

aid me in lifting the weight

it evaporates into the air with my sweat

my stomach, about to ascend

but suddenly my feet are heavy

my mind bogged down

I eat

Fats Proteins Carbs

balance balance balance

Hydrate Vegetables Fruits

balance balance balance

balance balance balance

balance balance balance

balance balance balance

Why do I still feel so heavy?
