Weighted blanket under a dream that is you

Red rose of you

Swift like a pounding sea,

Oh I’m swimming inside you,

And it’s a dream

Like a weighted blanket

What can that dream tell us

What does it look like

What did it feel like

When the curling edges swam up to our faces

And we gasped for breath?

Our bodies pounding against the other,

Manic and frantic

Like the sea, like sea sun moon things unlike our forms we walk on two feet with

It’s squashed and swelling and squelching

And salty and sweet and loud and silent

And yea,

Too good for this world

Because it’s ours

And you know it’s not what you expected

But it’s even better,

It’s stronger

It’s weighted under a frantic schedule of

Tears, pain

fervent grabbing,

The red rose of you,

Under the veneer of nightmares that

Screen door replaced thick, heavy, deep

Wood.

The strings are too heavy

Too long attached,

The weight of you

In that dream,

So long

So far

Is still stuck in my memory.
