Hump day, some say

Hump day

Let's play

Squirrels and bunnies

or dustbunnies

I say

Gratitude for all

Let's go out and have a ball

But what about the groundhog

There is a contest going on for that hog

Not a dog now, or ground pork

A little fella that is a weather dork

Making those predictions everyyear

Bringing many of us to tear

Here, here, time to cheer

Miigwech for all year!

~~

Author's Note: The following is where my rhyme above comes from.

CVA

Bunnies and squirrels

Enjoying seeds on the ground

Dog barking inside

Squirrels getting plump

Scrounging on the ground for seeds

Dog barking inside

Dog barking inside

At the bunnies hopping 'round

Eating seeds outside.

~~

CB: It's Wednesday, they call it hump day! A sunny day, I pray, as I head out for the day! Ole man winter has been hard at it this year, making it hard to go out and play! Each and everyday I wake up is a success, no matter what the day!

When I wake up, I hold my head high, thankful for another day!

My higher up is with me as I pray, guide me through this day, show me the way!

Have a great day, go out and play!

Author's Note: Then there was this, and how could she miss??

JB

On the groundhog

I totally missed the memo on the groundhog

My head was probably in its usual fog

So here I go, writing about the animal I love

The one sent direct from heaven above

Many people think he’s about the weather

But I say, they were made for pleasure

“What?”, you say, “How can that be??”

If you keep reading, soon you will see

It’s all in one’s own personal perspective

Which, for me, can be somewhat selective

I see the ground hog throughout the year

No, I’m not crazy, please, have no fear

It’s at all the grocery stores in our town

I like to cook it until it’s nice and brown,

Sausage with eggs and some buttered toast

On a pizza with cheese, in the oven to roast

Mixed with stuffing inside a holiday turkey

Some people even season and dry it for jerky

So you see, it’s all in the way we look at things

And ground hogs are fit for queens and kings
