We Were All Weapons

I'm dying to live again

Prophecy is never a moment in hindsight

I've been bitten by so many boy souls I've lost count

Scratching deep is still not part of my sleep, must be yours

We were all weapons

When everyone wanted the bomb to drop

but it never really happened did it

We were all used once upon a time

that's ok, I love you all

I heard you say it in my sleep but I haven't seen your face yet

We were all weapons once – that was after the fall

There's a top hat with an elastic band to keep it on

but I still can't wear it

I'm dying to live again

I'm not ready yet?

Is there peace in numbers?

I forget

I know what enemies are so what are you afraid of

It's the sign of Jesus Christ on my right - His face blinding bright like my heart is

Would you bet on it?

I would

A half moon is carried through

A hero never buries his pride

he wears it like a shield

I die so hard when I spoon you

But the earth wouldn't move

and my feet couldn't do it

Someone stole the shovel

where were you

where were you then

Shouting through the rooftops at fools who whispered - the party is not over until we wrestle you too

I'm taking steps backward to you, and you, and you

We are all weapons still

Handshakes in our pockets

Fists fit for dinner

Quite the page

Say it isn't so

Quite the sage

Pretty please

and I listened to it over and over again

Each time for the seven starlets that started a war

Nefertiti never looked so good?

Why, thank you

I dare you to touch it

but I'm harmless, too poor to matter

Welcome to the never ever-was-a hood

Each day is a new beginning you said

Two more times then we'll begin again – ok

Put crazy men to babysit my comet, the star of my heart

Did you?

Fu** you

I hope it all rings true again

You will never get this unless you were there

and if you weren't then this doesn't matter to you
