We Should Not Be Defined by Our Past but by Our Present, and What Could Be Our Future!

Life Poetry

By Lavender JonesPublished 7 years ago 1 min read

I am not defined by my past, for it did not last!

I am defined by the now, and how I make my choices.

The voices from the past will not make my decisions of now.

I am who I am because of my past, but I will create a better future.

I will rise above and become a better version of myself.

I will become Diversified, and more Dignified.

I will not be tied down by my tilted crown.

The frown that was upon my face in now upside down.

It has become a smile, and it will last awhile.

I will not be put on trial, for the creeps of my pasts denial.

What they did was not right, but my wings are clipped no more.

I will use them to take flight, and land in a sunny place.

So that I can feel and embrace the warmth upon my face.
