We Live Between Two Mirrors
A reflection on reflections

I walk in the city,
Through the crowds,
Past the buildings,
Down the streets,
The blind man’s cane,
The beggar’s cup.
A broken violin.
A dog curled up in a window.
I am not afraid.
I am able to think,
To hear,
To listen,
To see,
To talk to people,
And to love them
Without being afraid.
I bear witness to the lives of the people,
To their struggles,
Their happiness and joys,
Their sorrows and pains.
Without love,
They begin to die.
Without love,
They lose themselves.
Without love,
They are nothing.
Fear and love are one.
We live between two mirrors.
