We are All Married
-dedicated to Hollywood, USA-
Get her to the church on time--
she wants to be a Bride!
But oh, no, that is not to be. She feels
-confused
-scared
-abandoned
-lonely
-starved for touch and
-et cetera, et cetera.
Never mind!
It is just natural that she would be
yammering away as would any hapless child
who misses her mom, and (uh oh!) is
devastated by that Mama as well--
and Wowzers! she is ever so livid with Dad.
She is generally undone by life in general.
She finds it
just a bit
of a stretch
to trust God!
But hey, nonny, nonny
she is tired of Glum,
Glummer
Grim.
The suffering is tedium --
a bore at its least—
and at its worst,
her life has been pure hell.
Would you grab that little hand she dares to fling toward you, Almighty God?
She’ll give it a whirl -- she’ll take the plunge
into the bitter cold waters of uncertainty.
She wants to decide to give Trust a try.
To jump right in!
Float her
into the void she has been hearing about—
let her drift on out there!
It is not comfy but why not
give in to
(the possibility at least) of Freedom,
and seek that promised Land called
Joy?
Others in whom she has perfect trust
have done it and bear witness that it is a Reality greater than this one we think we “know.”
We are all married! they exclaim--
Others have taken the icy plunge, the dangerous journey--
and come up, smiling! :)

Thank you, beautiful lady!
Marriage would always be scary for me because nothing is guaranteed as people can change anytime. Loved your poem!
