We All Need Mad Scientists
Wonderland Poetry Prompt Challenge Day 12

A nonet poem for Ellie Hoovs challenge:
People said I was crazy as hell
To infect people with disease
Mad, bad, and unethical
My experiment won
Smallpox now be gone
Smart or lucky
I showed them
I’m not
Mad
******
[Author's Note: A brilliant experiment with no moral inhibitions. The Smallpox virus killed hundreds of millions of people. It left many more scarred and disabled. Known as the “Angel of Death," we are no longer familiar with it these days. The last case was reported in 1977.
It is the first and only disease so far that humanity has successfully eradicated. Edward Jenner, an English doctor, was thought to be mad when he used draconian methods, using pus from a blister of a person infected with smallpox, to develop the cure.]
Till next time,
Calvin

This was an amazing poem, with facts! And Congratulations on 200! Keep it up, sir. 😀👏
Great poem and fantastic information. AI should be able to find cures for more diseases pretty quickly. The only problem is big pharma’s opposition to lose their big business. They have blocked cancer research very well.
Very cool! Love your nonet!💗
This is fantastic and I love that you share the history here! They share the experience of people trying to decide if they are going to take the vaccination in the John Adams series. Mrs. Adams has to make the decision while John is away if she is going to vaccinate her and her children. Gosh at the time - can you imagine?
Fabulous 🍀🍀🍀
Excellent and thank you for sharing the prompt , I will get one in for this
