Watercolors
Painting is messy when you let someone else hold the brush
Watercolors
He paints pigment in between the cracks
Where the spaces of your life leave room
And open wounds.
The paint fills the shallow divots with an intense red,
With your favorite color blue.
The small, but deep spaces fill with color and the colors blend,
Making purples,
Making new combinations in the palette
That tells your color story.
At some point the cracks start to leak,
The beautiful purples ooze out
Back through.
All that’s left are open wounds and insides coated with
A residual intense red and patches of your favorite blue.
Now you have to start over,
To fill the cracks with your own
Color combination to create something whole
And beautiful
Again.

Dear Bria - I'm so glad I've just discovered you marvelous work. As I scroll through I've subscribed with pleasure. Funny: I'm not certain what a 'Corporate Fashionista is: I'm just a retired legal professional morphed into a silly story teller goof artist. But, never use messy water colors; I draw with my crayons. Best to you, Jay Kantor, Chatsworth, California 'Senior' Vocal Author - Vocal Village Community -
