Sunlight dances on the waters

Shimmering waves shimmy down

Slow movements from the wind fading

Laughter and awe fills the air

The glowing ball descending

Vibrant reds and oranges

Turns to pinks and purples

As the light dims the children smile

The decorated papers are wrapped around

Inside a tea light adds a glimmer of brightness

Messages of love, hope, and peace

Drawings of hearts, rainbows, and doves

They fill the papers along with wishes, affirmations, and prayers

Gently children and adults set lanterns down

They sway to and fro and drift towards recipients

On the other side these little messages

Are received with delight

About the Creator

Lisa Pulliam

I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.
