There is a sound of a feeling
That sneaks around these walls
A gentle thumping like a calm heartbeat
The sound is louder but promising
Like a dancing to a song
Smiles flying across the floor
Yet a piercing sadness creeps in
Subtle small and quiet depression
It is drowned out by laughter
By a other bodies flowing to the beat
Even by someone looking back with love
Yet the sound of the heartbeat slows and quickens
It’s like quick sand eating someone alive
Slowing as a pulled calmness that’s a lie
Internal drowning and dying
While the surface looks sublime
About the Creator
Lisa Pulliam
I love making fun of my emotions, feelings, and thoughts in short form writing such as songs and illustrations. I would like to write longer and more explorative pieces for others to read.
