Water Borne

Water Borne

Life becomes so simple when ignored

This protest of a presence

Presents itself bored

Meaning hollowed

Too much energy borrowed

Incomplete

Something like sorrow?

A subtle burning

Minds yearning for better earnings tomorrow ,

But

What are pennies to thoughts made of gold?

Can inner fire give without burning

When I hold?

Air can answer

But can it breeze through troubled 'fros?

on the coastline that every black barber knows?

This beautiful hurricane

Emotion in constant motion can't be quelled

Well

I tried once

To measure winds worth

But all storms need a wide berth

And these scales were brought up uneven

Regrettably

They do not weigh with impunity

Heavy headed, I scratch at crowned kinks

A blue prince

Despite the outcome

My blueprints sang true to me

But this chorus makes no cents

So I've decided

This gift to you is nonprofit

Shines like gold

Nonstop lit

Won't grow old

Ready with a quip

Something smooth about foreheads and lips

That's far less than it

But more than enough for eyes

Save, for this tempest so tempered and terse

What irony then

That I show love in verse

surreal poetry
