push and pull

she is of water,
guided by moon and ocean
mercurial. vast

he is of the earth.
careful thinker, calm and still,
unbothered by time.

she loves him, although,
she's scared to say so, tides change.
retreat, retreat, shh.

he takes her cold hand
and gently walks beside her,
for he loves her too.
