I will likely never be rich or famous
Those things do not bring happiness, anyway
True happiness is won through learning
To feel gratitude for what you have each day
I do not live on the beach
But it’s only a few minutes away
I do not live in the mountains
But I can be there and back in a day
I have a vaulted ceiling in my living room
With a large glass door facing west
I cannot see the sunrise each morning
But I believe the view I have is the best
When the day’s work is done
I have my own sanctuary
I can enjoy the evening air
The view is quite extraordinary
I can see the beautiful sunset
Painted in the warmest colors
As the sun retreats to the horizon
I am a witness to its wonders
