We walked together
hand in hand on the beach,
laughing as waves
licked our bare feet.
* Was it real? *
You told me you love me
for the first time
after I made us dinner
and burned the brownies.
I pounced on you
and said, "I love you too."
* Was it real? *
We watched a sunset
so beautiful it made me weep
You laughed at me,
so, I smacked you playfully.
We chuckled our way
to the bedroom.
* Was it real? *
Damned dementia,
Was it real?
Tell me it was real.

Stunning work! So Poignant!
Damned dementia really threw me off - say it isn’t so! You captured it from our POV outside that illness. 🫶🏻

I didn’t expect that turn at the end. Heartbreaking. It was real.

The unreality of reality… or possibly the reality of unreality. Very touching
