Was I ever your princess

The answer is clear, I was not

Was I ever your princess

Was I ever your princess,

your bright, cherished one,

held in the warmth

of a kingdom undone?

Did you weave me in dreams,

a crown on my head,

or was I just drifting,

a ghost left unread?

Was I ever your princess,

or only a name,

a story you told

but never became?

Did you build me a throne,

or was it just sand,

washed with the tide,

slipping out of your hand?

Did you call me your own

when the world turned to see,

or was I forgotten,

a whisper set free?

Did you fight for my place,

or let it decay,

watching the echoes

of love fade away?

Was I ever your princess,

or merely a spark,

lost in the shadow

that swallowed the dark?

You were never my king,

nor my prize to defend,

just a fleeting illusion

that came to its end.

What a perfect poem to depict a perfect relationship if that is possible. Good job.

  • Marie, it feels like a whispered question echoing in the silence after love has faded. The imagery of a forgotten princess is both delicate and devastating, capturing the bittersweet nature of longing and unanswered love. Your words make the reader feel the weight of doubt and the sting of unspoken truths. Beautifully written, and deeply felt. Looking forward to reading more of your work! What would happen if the Prince was turned into a Snake without you knowing. Checkout would be interesting to add a transformation to the poem See: https://shopping-feedback.today/horror/serpent-s-dominion-5geg30sgm%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
