Wandering Desires

(╯︵╰,)

By Karan w. Published 12 months ago 1 min read

The day your steps leave the home behind,
The plea for comfort will be buried and confined,
You’ll adorn yourself, no wish will remain,
For your soul will be freed from dreams so vain.

Don’t lose yourself in sorrow, O traveler,
You won’t find smiles in hearts so far,
Your loneliness is the pain that fills,
The empty spaces of hearts, where your dream still chills.

Don’t witness this scene with open eyes,
Close them, and see where peace truly lies,
Your heart, though empty, will grow heavy with weight,
Your eyes will fill, and the light within will dissipate.

Nothing is more important than inner peace, which the light of love scatters. Every step may hide pain, but the sky always smiles upon its children.

Hey Sk, do you want to do a part two for a new story and then we can see if Komal and Maryam want to continue it with a part three and maybe a four?

Oh my word, the first line made me so sad. It’s tear stirringly beautiful. It definitely set the tone of this poem. Oh gosh. ‘For your soul will be freed from dreams so vain.’ It’s like saying the persons departure will not leave room to remember what they left behind. Their lives will be too adorned by the everyday hustle and bustle… * Sk! My gosh you’ve got such a talent when it comes to writing elegies. The second quatrain blows my mind. Whatever negative feeling this traveler might be feeling, could be linked to the feeling that he left in the hearts of those he would not bring with him. In other words ‘I miss you’ said the ones left behind. Oh my, oh my oh my, I loved this so much! ‘Your heart, though empty, will grow heavy with weight, Your eyes will fill, and the light within will dissipate.’ 😭😭😭 This was so sad, but a complete masterpiece 👌🏽👏🏽♥️🤗
