Walls work both ways
One day you say hooray
The next, you can’t stay
Because walls work both ways

Initially the Berlin Wall was promoted as keeping West Germans out, but almost as soon as it was erected, it was used to keep East Germans from leaving.

I remember this as a child the wall came down and the celebration was announced. That rhymed. lol
Remember the day they completed the wall and recall when they tore it down!!!
Fences don't always make good neighbors.
true
I listen to a podcast called 'The Rest Is History', and they have a great episode on why the wall was erected. I remember when it fell and how happy people felt about it. And I also found out that there is a section of the wall on display in my adopted city of Montréal! Great work!
