Walking Home
...in silence
Walking home in the moonlight,
Guided by a star so bright,
The streets are calm, the air so cool,
I feel at peace, I feel at ease, like nothing can be cruel.
I hear my footsteps, and nothing else,
The silence is deep, as if it delves,
Into my deepest thoughts and fears,
As I make my way, my mind clears.
The night is longer, the road is clear,
I walk and walk, without any fear,
Until I reach the doorstep of my home,
And turn the handle, I'm not alone.
The warmth of my house, the lights that shine,
Welcome me back, like they're mine,
I sink into my bed, feeling content,
Walking home, was time well spent.
