Walk In Peace

A poetic birthday tribute to Ahmaud Arbery

By Joe PattersonPublished 8 months ago 1 min read

One day a young Black male woke up and took a walk.

His travel led to death and then he became the talk of the nation.

A fatal situation that left the entire nation in devastation.

He was a man of exercise who ran for exercise.

Living his life right. A good man should never die.

Young, Black, hardworking and educated.

To the stereotypes about us were you never regulated.

You had big dreams. Never should they at all have ceased.

Your murder was an injustice. No one could call for peace.

We all want peace. No time for fake crawls for peace.

Rest easy Ahmaud Arbery. May you walk in peace.

Happy heavenly birthday to Ahmaud Arbery.
