Waking as Friends

I've taken the quote "Don't walk in front of me I may not follow, don't walk behind me I may not lead, just walk beside me and be my friend" and made a poem around it.

The title of the poem of scattered parchment with blurred poems written on them.

Don’t

walk

in Front

of me,

I may

not

Follow.

~

Who knows

where,

you might

be Leading?

Will you,

unknowingly,

take me

somewhere,

of which,

I do not

Belong?

~

Will,

there be

obstacles,

of witch,

I cannot

surmount?

~

Will our,

paces

vary?

Leaving me

Alone,

as

you

move

on?

~

Don't

walk

behind me,

I'm may

not Lead.

~

Don't,

put your

fate,

solely in

these hands

of mine.

~

Not

knowing,

where

I shall

take you.

~

Maybe,

it’s a path,

that you’d

Rather,

not

traverse;

and While,

saying

no words,

our

paths,

Silently

Diverge.

~

Leaving me

Alone.

as you

drift,

further,

and further

behind.

~

Just

walk

beside me,

and

be my

Friend.

~

Together,

Our

Direction,

Our

Goals,

become One.

~

As we

Keep in Pace,

with

The other.

speaking up,

if

Something

is

amiss.

~

Listening,

and

talking,

Together,

as

Equals,

as

Friends.

~

Don’t

walk

in Front

of me,

I may

not

Follow.

~

Don't

walk

behind me,

I'm may

not

Lead.

~

Just

walk

beside me,

and

be my

Friend.
