Waiting

I'll await the day we reconnect

Listen, you read the stars all wrong.

There wasn't a day that went by that the birds didn't sing.

Not a day went by where the ocean didn't kiss the sand.

Listen, you got me all wrong.

There's not been a day where I haven't thought of you.

Where I didn't spill my heart out to one for you.

It's truly a mystery to me why you can't see -

beyond your own undoing, your silence, your retreating.

The walls beneath you that you've been building.

It's wrong. You're wrong. We're wrong.

Two-way street and we're going in the same direction.

You haven't missed me yet. Trust me I'd notice.

Your radio silence is nothing short of a showcase.

Self-imposed drama for your righteous motive.

We're not wrong about one thing.

Listen, you read it all wrong.

You heard it all wrong.

You were only waiting for the noise to stop so you could say it.

So you could say what you were thinking.

You weren't waiting. You weren't listening.

Hearing only under the mumble of your hurricane.

The verdict here. You disappeared.

All along I waited here.

Under the stars. You read them wrong.

Under the stars.

I'll wait right here.
