I sit and wait, the hours crawl,

Time moves slow, like shadows tall.

But still, no sign, no sound, no heat.

I’m caught in webs of anxious thought,

In this space where time is fraught.

Each moment stretched, a silent scream,

As hope and doubt begin to seam.

The world outside spins and turns,

But here, inside, a longing burns.

I watch the door, the empty space,

Where once there was a fleeting trace.

But still, I wait, through endless days,

For something lost in time’s vast maze.
