Waiting

I knelt in the valley of kings

I saw the sun go black

And here I wait

Until my flesh feeds maggots

Until my bones turn to dust

Yet here I wait for you

I stared across the blood-soaked fields

I saw with the ravens eye

And here we will meet

Until the great beast drowns the world

Until the moon turns to blood

Here I will meet you

I sat in the great halls

We laughed like brothers

Here we embraced like kinsman

Until the beast picks the marrow from our bones

Until the rivers run dry

Here I will embrace you

I stand upon the field of battle

Alone

And I wait

Here I wait for you

These places I wait

These places we met

These places we embraced

Because you are not here

I will continue to wait

heartbreak
