The Ballad of Me

All my life I have lived purple

As gay as I could be.

My whole childhood was a hurdle.

I loved dolls; I was three.

I didn’t care what people see

Time I learned, I was ten.

Won’t you please tell me when to breathe.

I’m more broke than I’ve ever been.

Started dancing to my own tune.

Out the ground, I’m in bloom.

I am staring up at the moon,

Above the dust and gloom.

Spreading my wings, I start to croon.

I know who I can be.

The dark and gray is gone so soon.

Violet shine. I’m free.
