America

not my America

By MeshiaPublished 6 years ago β€’ 1 min read

America has been said to be the land of the free

the Bold and The Brave

But this is not my America

My America is a land thousands of

miles from where we stand

Where the animals roam free

and me and my Village People

had no care in the world

My America became this land

when we were dragged from our home across the seas

plunged into a world that we couldn't explain

foreign to us in ways

Languages we did not speak

people we had not seen

forced to do their bidding

while they chained away our freedom

Throughout the times we had our

people stand and fight for our rights

America was said to be the land of dreams

but it was a land of nightmares for

those of not white skinned

And even though today

we have more rights than we did before

we are still not free

Instead of being slave masters

they are disguise as policemen, judge's, president's & political figures

suppressing our freedom

So, when someone speaks of America

being the great land

remember it was built on blood and bones of Innocence.
