I remember

By Daniel KPublished about a month ago 1 min read

You told me once we were unsuitable,

called me up to twist that knife,

I guess time proved your words immutable.

*

you lured me in, that’s not refutable,

framed you in visions as my wife,

though you told me once we were unsuitable.

*

your plan was firm, wasn’t disputable,

moved away to live your life,

I guess time proved your words immutable.

*

a healthy love was not computable,

you’re used to one that’s filled with strife,

you told me once we were unsuitable.

*

I admit I found your choice inscrutable,

the tension between us painfully rife,

I guess time proved your words immutable.

*

the scars you left remain imputable,

the air behind you became a stife,

you told me once we were unsuitable,

I guess time proved your words immutable.

About the Creator

Daniel K

I write love poems about the girl who has a hold over my heart and my life in such a way that neither are my own anymore. The girl I would choose over and over and over again. I love her, and that is the beginning and end of everything.
