Vastness

..space..water..imagination..feelings..

There is something

so colossal the eyes

cannot take it in

all at one time.

And it's not

something

that I could

ever claim alone

as mine.

--- Vastness

It cannot be

grabbed or

held

and there are

some vast spaces

we will

never tame

never touch

or see in person

for that much.

One can find solace

in the vastness

a silent serenade

to dream of wishes

and plans yet to be

made.

--- Space

Endless stars,

planets littered

across the cosmos

as comets streak

to meet their

inevitable end.

We'll never truly

know if there's

any noise there

or just a silence

that will not rend.

--- Oceans

Water so very blue

as far as one can see,

but we cannot see the

entirety of it all

from sea to shining sea.

Water supporting

billions of lives

human, mammal and fish.

An ocean depth of

nourishment of which

one could only wish.

--- Imagination

Here's one thing

that you can claim as

all your own.

Stretch it as wide as

an Ocean, as tall as

a Tree, as vast as

you ever imagined

Space could be.

You are ruler

of your own mind

you get to decide if

you'll be cruel or kind.

You can write a novel

or pretty poetry. Paint

a masterpiece for everyone

to see. Yes, that's right

Imagination

cost nothing - it's totally

free.

--- Love

A mother's first glance

at her new born child.

That first kiss that you

waited for so long.

The vastness of love

can be

Silent, Broody,

Loud, Wild

or Strong.

There's a vastness to love

even as you feel tightness

in your chest and you want

to scream out to the world

whom you love the best.

God said love

was patient and kind

but love can also be

misguided and blind.

But still

Love is the one thing

all the inhabitants of

the world need the most

we need it's vastness

to surround us.

God said love was patient and kind but it also can be blind. That is true Sam. Nicely Done!!!

This is beautiful; I love how it makes me think about the vastness around me. Although some vastness is a bit frightening, I don't like space vastness. But the oceans are great. All that life. This is a great piece, and it is well done.

Such a cool reflection on vastness, from space and oceans to imagination and love. And love, as always, is the ultimate force that keeps it all connected. Super thoughtful and deep, but in a breezy way! ✨
