Vapors
The Dance

like my first breath
and its last
your glittered beauty
briefly lingers
like a burning cigarette
special memories
and vapor
stirring emotions of the past
like a dance with mother nature
tattered lace and ruffled edges
linger softly, like a shiver
frozen moments gently cast
stir my heart, nearing December
once a soft and tender flame
crystalized, frozen forever
each uniquely frosted flake
though alike, never the same
each moment melts into another
a gentle melancholic game
a delicately dusting promise
with a soft white lacey cover
innocence is captured in the wind
blowing its folly like a whisper
a favorite, long-lost welcomed friend
subtly bringing needed change
and we adapt, still unaware
we won't pass this way again
living on circumstance and prayer
naivety put on display
like the ever-changing snow
blanketing the world away
swept up in its after glow
from the blues and perma-gray
a new warm feeling starts to grow
from the thoughts of yesterday
bringing new memories to hold

Such a lovely response to the prompt. Beautifully lyrical poetry.
You need to compile all your poems into a book, Miss Kellie. Great writing that makes you feel.
