Hoping For Heaven

Wasted wilted wishes

broken penny promises

Moonlight make believing

on what if's and could have Beens

Precious misspent moments

carousels and Ferris wheels

Emotions set in motion

the teary tales of ne'er do wells

Connections or exceptions

static noise and dropping calls

Blurred lines and misconceptions

what's the meaning of it all

We toss it in the air

surprised when it falls to the ground

We say that we don't care

and cry without making a sound

With all this mass confusion

it's no wonder we're insane

Live under some delusion

there is a winner in this game

We jumble words together

trying to make sense of senseless

Waiting for miracles in December

to deliver on life's promise

That somewhere in this commotion

there's a purpose and a meaning

An unseen magic potion

to undo all our misdoings

Maybe there is and time will tell

as we place our bets on lucky seven's

That we escape the fires of hell

and enjoy the fruits of heaven

A raw and honest portrayal of the human experience. Your words capture the essence of our hopes, dreams, and disappointments. A truly moving piece. The line 'Wasted wilted wishes, broken penny promises' is particularly striking. It's a powerful image of unfulfilled dreams and broken hearts.

Wow the contrast between fleeting moments and the longing for something more gives it a such poignant depth. It can resonates with anyone who has ever questioned life's purpose or hoped for a miracle. So much emotion packed into every line! Great work 🫵🏽❤️

What a beautifully haunting reflection on the messiness of life, missed opportunities, and the search for meaning. The imagery you’ve used, especially the "wasted wilted wishes" and "precious misspent moments," really captures the fragility and complexity of human experience. It's so easy to get lost in the noise and confusion, but your words remind us that perhaps we’re all just waiting for that unseen "magic potion" to bring clarity. This piece resonated with me, thank you for sharing such a vulnerable and thought-provoking exploration of life’s uncertainties.

You are a poet Miss Kelli, and I have read and heard the poets go to heaven and you will be there no matter what. Your poem gives readers a lot to ponder about themselves. Good work.
