Vanish

Fleeting - poetry

By Phyllis HoltPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Vanish

We build a life around those we love

Reminded never be neglectful of

Their loving presence in our life

Whether husband, child or wife

Sometimes a friend both close and dear

Eyes search for, remembrance clear

How much fun was had together

Hilarious antics through all weather

Songs shared, moments of warmth

Now long gone and henceforth

Remembered with heartfelt longing

Times shared walking and talking

About all our dreams and hopes

Laughter and tears they would coax

In equal measure, brought such pleasure

Luxuriating in acceptance, now a treasure

For long ago they did vanish

Leaving us to accomplish

The remainder of our days and nights

Amid thoughts of rare delights

And though alone, without them be

They won’t vanish from memory

love poems
