Up Till Now

by Jan Harrison

By Jan HarrisonPublished 5 years ago 1 min read

Up till now, my life’s been all illusion

a fusion – of ‘what if’s’ and empty promises

Love based on a foundation of feathers – and tethers

Easily stretched to breaking, an aching heart....

My bed was briefly a bed of roses – one supposes

To charm and disarm

But then I was never enough for him and Indifference showed its hand

Unplanned, I’m sure, but nonetheless, it meant our love was damned..

So, no more illusory loves and soaring doves for me – no, no, no more

Let there be Magic of a different kind, to charm my mind..and soul

After all, the Universe knows me more than I know myself

So I ask, I trust and believe

And I know with every strand of the strings in my heart

That in Love and Light I WILL receive....
