Up In Flames

...Melting the ice within never felt so good.

By Kyrah ClemonsPublished 8 years ago 1 min read

A cold had settled within my bones... my soul, my heart was made of ice.

A chilled breath escaped my mouth as I exhaled and a warm one meandered inside...

Cooling... because I was the cold itself.

A hardened being to the world, the emotions around me.

Taking what I could and ignoring what I didn’t need.

I was a monster invisible to my eyes, seen by others...

I couldn’t be tamed until I met you.

Then everything changed and when I caught glimpse of your face.

A warmth caused me to shudder, my face caught your glow and reddened all over.

My body flushed and for the first time in a while, I felt the warmth.

A heat ignited inside and your love began to warm me.

Your kiss melted against my lips and my body burned...

Your passion seared me to the bone and I went up in flames... for you.

My icy heart shattered and your sunny rays tamed the shadows in me.
