Unwritten Melodies

By Julie O'Hara - Author, Poet and Spiritual WarriorPublished 3 months ago 1 min read

[Verse]

My heart aches with the weight of your silence

A symphony lost in the void of defiance

The echoes of songs you never could sing

Are haunting the strings of my everything

[Chorus]

You had so many words left unsaid

So many tunes still dancing in your head

Cut down too soon

Your story untold

A voice like the wind

But the air turned cold

[Verse 2]

The pages are blank where your lyrics should be

A melody trapped in eternity's sea

The chords you imagined

They linger in air

But fade like a dream that was never quite there

[Chorus]

You had so many words left unsaid

So many tunes still dancing in your head

Cut down too soon

Your story untold

A voice like the wind

But the air turned cold

[Bridge]

The stars hum your name in a sorrowful key

The moon sheds a tear for the songs that could be

Your spirit still sings in the whispers of night

A songbird in shadow

Lost in the light

[Chorus]

You had so many words left unsaid

So many tunes still dancing in your head

Cut down too soon

Your story untold

A voice like the wind

But the air turned cold

this is so beautiful. If my brother was still alive, I know he'd be able to write the music for it. His first love was music (unfortunately, never had the opportunity to do anything about it). I would really love to hear this set to music.
