Escaping Depression

By Vicki LucasPublished 6 years ago 1 min read

Whether you’re sitting on a mountain ,or a rock down by the sea,

Or on a grassy hilltop, looking down between the trees

Or even on a chair, in a garden all alone,

Or on a comfy sofa, in your living room at home

Sometimes things will wake you, from the slumber that is stress

Some things lift your head up, take your mind out of the mess

Like rays of light that dance, off of the leaves, the grass , the seas

A birds first morning song, drifting softly on the breeze

The blossoms of the flowers, giggles from a school

Little fishes splashing, catching flies above a pool

All these things remind you, that summers on its way,

Better things are coming, there’s always brighter days

Watch that gorgeous sunrise, take that stroll along the beach,

Wander through the countryside, bite into a peach

We all need to take a moment, to collect our thoughts and feel the calm

We need to look around us, be it city, town, or farm

We need to feel the beauty, just stop and take a look

If only to remind us, life’s a yet unwritten book 🌼
