Unworthy

Foremost The Least

By Earl W. PearlPublished about a year ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read

Before I’m called to yonder blue

I must confess to you-know-Who

I’ve read His book completely through

It turned me into someone new

See, as I read, the more I knew

The things I read had changed my view

His love took on a softer hue

Made sweeter every breath I drew

If I was down, my prospects few

He always knew just what to do

I’d suffer hardship, pay my due

Yet, even THAT was so I grew

Had bit off more than I could chew

Was running with a worldly crew

My sinful ways were ways I’d rue

I prayed to Him, as if no clue

“I’ve sacrificed, I’m tried and true”

He answered back, “Yes, I did too”

And then He dropped the other shoe

“I sacrificed my Boy for You”
