Unwitting Participants
Unwilling To Change

Our demons collaborated and took us both down,
they whispered and goaded, barely making a sound.
Then, they dove into the thoughts, we thought were safe in our heads,
they circled above us, while we tossed and turned in our beds.
They pushed and they pulled, until there was no - eye to eye,
making the outcome more vicious, it's either you or it's I.
Pitted me, like a dog, against the one that I loved,
and when given the chance, it was my heart you shoved.
Into a corner, defensive, just like in the ring of a fight,
we no longer cared who was wrong, to be right.
They picked us apart, until there was nothing left,
except for the big gaping hole, we both displayed in our chests.
No, our demons can't stand us, and the funny thing is,
we gave them the weapons to turn us into this pile of shi#*@

Yes, we did. Where there is no rapprochement, our demons take over.
