Unwavering

I’m on the outskirt,

Protective cloaks block my touch

I can reach them, but they don’t feel me

I tried staring, unwavering

Perhaps they will sense my eyes on them, still

There’s no response back

Must be cursed with invisibility,

Obliviated from their mind for a second time

It’s all too familiar,

Emptiness is second nature,

Nobody understands, and

Who can?

Talking about God is frowned upon

Laws and regulations, tongue tied

Can’t say God or you’ll be punished

Well my job is unfinished

I’ll be slaying the enemy ‘til my work gets published

Like that will ever happen, I cannot even pull the trigger

These poems may get lost on this screen and hard drive.

I don’t need friends to only show up when it’s convenient

I need them to always be at the ready,

Regardless of what confines us

Give everyone the best of me, and

Receive everyone’s side of ugly

Blessings I pray upon them

Curses I take willingly, warding off the enemy

So yes, I feel empty at times

Unfulfilled and exhausted

Still taking my laps when I need to go in the cockpit,

People encourage autopilot, saying I have a God complex

To stay quiet, but I can’t…

Unless you bound my hands and feet, and duct tape my mouth

I won’t deny Him,

Even if I am, I’ll still find a way to praise His name

Because of my unwavering faith, I am deadly

Because being dead doesn’t scare me

But lately, I’ve been trying to fight the war alone

Like a lone ranger,

But I need the help of my brothers and sisters

Who stand beside and behind me,

Loyalty….

But it seems like this expectancy is too rare these days,

Guardians of our hearts until it falls apart

And it will, because you cannot keep up with the enemy on your own

He will run you ragged and control you like a clone

One should be wise to resist charging into battle

Wield the divine weapons to dismantle disobedience,

Where two or more gather, there He is among them

With unwavering strength, I stand before them roaring like a lion

I am a Christian, and Christ is my King.

And if those words kill me, at least my faith was unwavering.
