Untriggered.

….a story poem.

A little girl waved at a dog that barked,

like thunder tearing through barbwire.

Still, she waved..

braver, louder, unbothered,

like she sees from the inside out?

Minuscule hands tucked in her mother’s steady palm.

The fence holding the danger back.

….

I realize.

A gun with no bullet cannot be fired.

A gun in the right hands,

becomes protection

not harm.

Innocence meets experience...and I've always said that there is no such thing as an unloaded gun. The threat always remains.
