Until Tomorrow
A poem
Is it cold where you are?
Sometimes the skies are grey but the air is never cold.
Why are the skies grey?
Sometimes sorrow hits like a storm, it gets so heavy we must let it go into the clouds.
Is that why it’s been so overcast here… because I miss you?
Eventually the sun comes out, doesn’t it? That’s my light, embracing you.
It’s getting darker now, did you let go?
I never truly let go, dear one. When you rest, I’m watching over your dreams.
You visit when I sleep sometimes.
You see? I’m always holding on.
Will you watch over me tonight?
Until tomorrow, when the sunlight can kiss your forehead for me and cradle you in its warmth like I once did.
