To the point of blood.

Any blood will do, any at all.

He will chase the birds in the sky

Until the blisters rip off,

The thorns pierce arteries,

And dust gathers in the chambers

Of a failing heart.

.

To the point of blood.

Warm life that can heat him up.

He hunts the satisfaction to his hunger

Inside the galaxies

Stretching lazily overhead

As though they aren't

Prime targets.

.

To the point of blood.

Until the hunger has been killed.

He races the moon with a knife,

Daring to cut into the black tapestry

And open his mouth to catch

Crimson droplets of

The slaughtered gods.

This cosmic vampire came to life through your words! And what a force he was. Fantastic poem, Silver!

The poem vividly explores the destructive, relentless nature of desire and hungerβ€”both physical and metaphysical. The repetition of "To the point of blood" evokes an insatiable craving that pushes the speaker beyond human limits, chasing something as vast and unreachable as the stars or gods. It’s a raw, almost violent pursuit, where the hunger for fulfillment leads to self-inflicted wounds and cosmic ambition. The imagery of blisters, thorns, and a failing heart reflects the toll of this pursuit, as the speaker seems trapped in a cycle of desire that can only consume. It’s a haunting portrayal of how obsession can become all-encompassing, with little regard for the cost.

I have to laugh. Not because this wasn't exquisite and eloquent and seductive. But, just because can always rely on you to make the darkest and twistest things seem wildly attractive lol. I mean they are anyway, but you have such a smooth way with words...it doesn't even come off as shocking in this one...just natural...oh blood stuff. space stuff... smooth, normal nothing weird to see here, but it is, in an awesome way. Well done and please don't be offended by my random-ass mumblings lol. In my head they probably sounded better than they did on screen lol.
