Unsolicited

Just let me feel this “bad” feeling for a minute.

It’s okay to lose focus, sink, zone internal for a bit.

Who decided it’s bad to feel?

***

I don’t want outside help

to feel better, to feel “right.”

Who defines feeling right, anyway?

***

I am human, I am allowed to feel; it’s good to feel,

despite your discomfort.

Why do you feel your advice is necessary?

***

So, please, spare me

hugs, prayers, advice for gratitude practices, journaling;

whatever.

Unless you have a magic shot of motivation for me,

just be quiet; let me ruminate,

let me enjoy my own pity-party for a bit - you’re not invited -

I’ll be fine without the added pressure

to act in the way

deemed “normal.”

***

Don't worry - I won't jump.

sad poetry

Allowing things to play out without outside interference, it's less stressful. Lovely poem!!!♥️♥️💕

Well said. Bottle up too much, you'll explode.

  • It's always the best to express our feelings rather than bottle them up. Hope you feel better soon. Sending you lots of love and hugs! 💖

OMG.... have you crawled inside my brain and heart? There are times I feel the exact same way. My husband says I stress too much over the little things. He's probably right but then, I can't talk to him and tell him what's wrong when I'm not even sure myself. I know, he'd never understand, either. Thank you SO much for sharing this. I know I'm not alone.

I like this so much. Sometimes we just have to spend a little time feeling the feelings. Lovely, well-written piece.

Yep, sometimes You just need to feel a negative emotion to its fullest. Sadness, anger, pity, hurt, etc. As long as You're not going to harm Yourself or anybody else, feel and feel deep and feel often. Not everything is meant to bring joy. If joy rules over all, then joy loses its novelty and even its sense of purpose. Fleeting moments and emotions are meant to be as they are. Existing for periods of time.

Sometimes it just has to take its course. Well written.

Perfect and very true and like Gerald, I thought the ending was very funny! Nice little kicker to complete the whole thing! Well done!

Love this! So true. Just let me feel what I need to feel. I almost laughed out loud at your last line, it was just perfect.
