Unseen Stories

A Poetic Tribute to an Unseen Legacy"

In a world that changed, would you feel the same?

The flames have faded, the earth's thirst unabated,

Grass now whispers tales, where once life prevailed.

Perhaps you rest as a feast, where maggots find peace,

Or in the warmth of cremation, a final transformation.

Did she carry out your wish, in the fiery swish?

You never spoke your desire, leaving me to inquire,

Five more decades you believed to hold,

Yet fate's grip was swift, stories left untold.

The world moved on, a relentless stream,

But my heart lingers, lost in a dream.

I apologize, for I can't match your quill,

No novels written, just memories to fulfill.

Your pen name a secret, hidden in the past,

An alias gone, with you it's cast.

Through the town, I've sought your fame,

But the great American novel bears no name.

Beneath dusted shelves, in a quiet abode,

An ancient book hides, its story untold.

In a Texas town, forgotten by the day,

Your name lives on, in an old library's display.

Idaho's memory, a whisper in the trees,

Pines standing tall, carrying the breeze.

I hope, as time continues to unfold,

All the pines remember, the stories you once told.
