A dark cloud crossed the moon
Exclaiming unlit mutiny
Poor choices then ensued
Questioning my substance, under scrutiny
*
I surrendered to the thought
That my actions revealed the best of me
All the demons that I fought
Released my chains, setting me free
*
But the voices in my head
insisted that I'd been deceived
My will to choose was dead
I wasn't who I thought I'd be
*
When faced with the weight of choice
Crumbed into vain conformity
Completely silenced that small voice
the end of my tranquility
*
Who knows what might have been
If I had followed a path~ truer to me
That path, narrowly thin
Had I trodden it, however ~ dauntlessly?
*
I may have met a different fate
Examining these flawed parts of me
Who knows, I guess it's safe to say
My fate, ultimately ~ remains unseen
